What is on TOEIC Writing?
TOEIC Writing has three task types: writing a sentence describing a given picture, responding to a workplace email, and an opinion essay. Each measures something different — the picture task tests sentence-level grammar, the email tests workplace register and whether you addressed every request, and the essay tests whether you can develop an argument. The AI grades each against its own criteria and returns an estimated score with specific comments.
What the grading includes
- An estimated score on the TOEIC Writing 0-200 scale, with the matching CEFR level.
- Per-criterion comments quoting specific sentences from your work.
- Errors marked in place by category: grammar, spelling, coherence, lexical choice, and task response.
- Sentence rewrites and vocabulary upgrades, particularly useful for workplace email register.
- A Vietnamese translation of the feedback.

How to practice TOEIC Writing

TOEIC Writing scores and what they mean
TOEIC Writing is scored from 0 to 200. Knowing where you stand helps you set a realistic target:
- Below 90: sentences still carry basic grammar errors; shore up sentence structure first.
- 90-130: you can handle basic emails and essays; coherence and vocabulary need work.
- 140+: natural phrasing, correct workplace register, clear arguments — the level many employers ask for.
FAQ
How is TOEIC Writing different from TOEIC Listening & Reading?
They are separate tests. Listening & Reading is the more common one in Vietnam and is scored 10-990. Speaking & Writing is its own test, with Writing scored 0-200. If your employer asks for a Writing score, you need to register for that test specifically.
Is AI TOEIC Writing scoring accurate?
The AI returns an estimated score based on the test's published criteria, meant for reference and tracking progress while you practice. It is not an official score, it does not replace a real result, and S English is not affiliated with ETS. The detailed feedback is what actually moves you forward.
Is the picture-description task hard?
It is short but easy to lose marks on, because you must use the given words and write a grammatically correct sentence that genuinely matches the picture. The usual failure is a perfectly correct sentence that either ignores the picture or skips a required word.
What is the CEFR level for?
CEFR (A1 to C2) is a common European reference scale that lets you compare your writing level against other certificates. It is also an estimate, not an official result.
